UCSW at CHATSWORTH
COUNTRY FAIR 2007
Friday 31 August to Sunday 2 September
UCSW Legal Adviser Brian Friend, Litigant in Person in the House of Lords
Scottish Hunting Act appeal, will speak on this Government’s vicious
attack on the Countryside & its’ Way of Life at 2:00pm on Friday
31st August at Chatsworth Country Fair.
Following the cancellation of the CLA Game Fair in July, including the
UCSW sponsored seminar on the Hunting Act Appeal, we contacted the Chatsworth
organisers to see if they could provide a platform for Brian Friend in
the run up to his Appeal being heard in the House of Lords from 11th October
2007.
Entitled Presentation on the Hunting Act Human Rights Appeal, UCSW have
been liaising with Adrian Francis of Terrier Roadshow fame who is organising
the new Seminar Arena by Lady Mary’s Bower – full details
below.
The Union of Country Sports Workers will have their usual stand with
membership information and related merchandise in the newly situated Countryman’s
Walk beside the River Derwent.
Brian Friend will be available on Friday and Saturday to explain about
his forthcoming House of Lords appeal against the hunting ban in Scotland
and how, with the help of the UCSW, he has started a Campaign to stop
the harassment and distress caused by the so called hunt monitors to Hunt
staff and members whilst legally hunting. Under the 1997 Protection from
Harassment Act and the 1986 Public Order Act, everyone in the United Kingdom
is protected from being harassed or distressed by the activities of others.
“ Mindful that an ethnic community is a group of people with a
common cultural or national tradition, cultural, civil, social, personal
and human rights are guaranteed by treaty and law to Gypsies, Saami Indians,
Eskimos, aborigines, all ethnic minorities, criminals, terrorists, asylum
seekers and to indigenous peoples everywhere, but not apparently to the
United Kingdom’s Hunting community an indigenous ethnic group dating
back to the Iron Age.”
